Len Dawson passed away earlier this week, leaving the NFL community grieving.

Last week, Dawson passed away in Kansas City after entering hospice care.

His 23-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in 1969 was the Chiefs' first Super Bowl title.

Patrick Mahomes, the current Chiefs quarterback, paid tribute to him on Thursday evening.

In addition to Dawson's signature, his hoodie featured the words HOF 87.

Dawson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987.

To wrap up their preseason schedule, the Chiefs play the Packers on Thursday night.

With two preseason starts under his belt, Mahomes is a game-time decision.

During the game, kickoff will take place at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
