At age 56, Jamey Rootes, former president of the Houston Texans, passed away on Sunday.

In a Facebook post, his wife, Melissa Rootes, confirmed his death, according to Houston's KPRC.

Sadly, Jamey Rootes passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 in Houston, Texas, after a battle with mental illness.

Former Houston Texans President Jamey was known for his devotion to family and friends.

Melissa McNair and her two children were condoled on behalf of the McNair family by the Texans.

During his tenure with the Texans, Jamey led the business operations. He has been a steadfast leader."

Rootes previously ran Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer. His next job was CEO of the Houston Dynamo and Dash.
